DineSmart is a hospitality industry recognised and led event that takes place every December. Since 2003, thousands of loyal restaurant partners and their generous diners have teamed up to make a difference in their local communities. Participating venues add a voluntary $2 donation on every bill during the month, giving their diners an easy opportunity to give back during the festive season.
The power of DineSmart lies in the collective impact of donations from restaurants, industry brands, and generous diners. These contributions are pooled together to fund solutions that provide care and support for people facing and experiencing homelessness.
Find out more about the impact of DineSmart in 2023 here.
How does it work?
By taking part you are committing to raise funds in-venue by adding a $2 donation on every bill from 1 – 31 December 2024. This donation is voluntary and can easily be removed upon request.
How do I get involved?
Just sign up and we’ll provide all the digital and printed marketing collateral you need to spread the word and encourage your diners to participate.
Why should I get involved?
Taking part in DineSmart means more than just supporting a worthy cause– it’s an opportunity to deepen your connection with your community and showcase your role in the fight against homelessness. DineSmart provides you with a platform to connect with socially conscious customers who value and support your commitment to making a difference.
With the backing of our ambassadors, supporters, and media partner Broadsheet, we’ll encourage people to dine out at partner restaurants, wrapping a support hospitality and social impact message to drive more traffic to your venue.
Why DineSmart Donations are So Important
There are over 7,600 people sleeping rough in Australia, but homelessness is not just about lacking a roof over your head. In fact, on any given night, a staggering 122,494 people are experiencing homelessness in our country living without shelter, in crisis accommodation, caravans, couch surfing or in over-crowded buildings. This is why it’s absolutely essential that we respond by meeting people’s needs at every stage of their journey towards a safe home, ultimately breaking the cycle of homelessness.
