All Stars Dinner raises $32,522

By March 11, 2016June 19th, 2020StreetSmart News

201603060078 (1024x683)Sunday night saw the Front of House All Stars crew assemble at Ezard for the 10th All Stars Dinner, the 8th in Melbourne. We are so lucky to have the support of 8 multi Award winning restaurateurs and managers – the best in the business – supporting our work. 100% of the proceeds of the evening are donated by the All Stars to StreetSmart, an amazing commitment from all involved. This year we raised $32,522, just shy of our previous record. To know we have the support of leaders across the hospitality industry gives us such a boost and motivation to keep building our campaigns and community impact.
We welcomed back several tables of guests from previous years and to quote one guest “it was fantastic, we wouldn’t miss it” – and we second that.
The food and wine matches showcased by each All Star were sublime, giving a fascinating insight into their restaurants.   Here’s the menu…

Erez-Gordon_2016FOHAllStars_1024x683Erez Gordon once again flew down from Sydney to MC the night and was ‘on fire’ as he auctioned off unique food and wine offerings generously put up by the All Stars and others in the industry, such as Gary Crittenden, Curly Flat, Mamasita, Grand Hyatt and Bress Winery. Top selling items on the night were the ‘Pei Modern Dinner at Home’ for 6 people, the ‘Union Dining Sunday Lunch on the Terrace’ for 8, the ‘Ladro Spit Roast at Home’ for 8-10 people, the ‘Sydney Dining Experience’ at Longrain, The Apollo, Cho Cho San, Bishop Sessa and Hotel Olovo, and the ‘Sushi and Sake Afternoon Masterclass’ at Kappo. Our thanks to the very generous guests who supported the auction and even bought one of Erez’s surprise packages of ‘Nothing’.

Robert-Gillies-HOMIE_2016FOHAllStars_1024x683Guests heard from the Chairman of StreetSmart – Jerry Marston – about the work we do in the community and he introduced Robert Gillies, Young Australian of the Year Victoria, who is the Founder of HOMIE, a project seed funded by StreetSmart. Guests got an insight into Robbie’s community projects and how StreetSmart support helps out at the grassroots. Robbie and seven other ‘Local Heroes’ from the community sector were at the dinner care of Minter Ellison who once again sponsored their seats.

Thanks to everyone involved including the amazing kitchen teams, floor staff, wine suppliers and our friends at the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival…. And maybe we’ll see you next year!
