Corporate collaboration creating change
The Alternative Dairy Co have taken their Team Championship across the country, raising funds to provide hospitality based training and employment opportunities to at-risk cohorts. With a localised impact on the ground at each of the 7 locations, it’s a remarkable example of a corporate collaboration creating change that takes a whole of community approach to support those in need.
National tour generates collaborative local change
A colourful evening of coffee, corporate collaboration, team challenges, and barista skills in Melbourne last month brought the National Tour to a close. The Alternative Dairy Co, have toured 7 states, helping raise awareness and funds for local responses to homelessness. Focusing on prevention, funds have been pooled back into local communities in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Hobart, and Canberra to provide training and employment opportunities to at-risk cohorts.
If you’re wondering what next-level, high impact corporate fundraising look like, you’ve found it. Through ticket sales and raffles, The Alternative Dairy Co team rallied the cafe and coffee lovers across the country to champion the work of TipJar. With a local impact at each location, the corporate collaboration not only helped to change the narrative for people facing employment barriers but it has strengthened local communities and championed a whole-of-community response to homelessness.
Connecting those at-risk with hospo opportunities
The final events in Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth have meant a further $4,800 has been distributed to fund hospitality training and employment opportunities. The programs work alongside at-risk cohorts and those who face barriers to employment like young people, migrants, refugees, those living with disability or mental health challenges.
Education, employment, and financial security are key protective factors against homelessness, and poverty, yet opportunities to be trained, up-skilled, and mentored can be hard to access and engage in for those who face complex challenges. By boosting funding to programs that help to train, mentor, employ, and up-skill, TipJar helps to open doors to future employment opportunities. “The TipJar funds will help provide employment and training for women who have experienced family and domestic violence and at-risk young people to help break the cycle of homelessness. Thank you so much for the support!” – The Underground Collective, WA

“This essential funding will enable us to provide much-needed training for our students. Young people face a ‘confidence crisis’ in our community and Moon Rabbit cafe is a safe space where they can repeatedly return to consolidate their confidence, hone their barista skills, and prepare for starting a new job. We’ve had over nine young people reach out for support to rebuild their confidence to commence work this year alone.” – Moon Rabbit Cafe, VIC
